KoiArt is made by Spacerr LLC. We keep as little as we can.
The app
The effects and wallpapers run on your Mac. To make snow land on your windows, the app reads where your windows sit on the screen, never what's in them, and it stays on your Mac. Photos you turn into glass wallpapers never leave your Mac. The app has no analytics.
Your license key
When you pay, we keep your email, your license key and how many Macs it's for in our database (Neon, in the US), and email you the key with Resend.
When you paste the key into the app, it sends the key and a code for your Mac to our server, so the key can't be used on more Macs than it's for. The code is a scrambled form of your Mac's hardware ID that can't be turned back into it. We keep it with the date it was added and the last date the app checked in. Remove the key in the app and that Mac's code is deleted.
Paying
Stripe takes your payment. We never see your card. Stripe keeps your email, name and country with the order.
The website
This site counts its visits with PostHog, on its US cloud: which pages are opened, which links and buttons are clicked, how far a page is scrolled and how fast it loads, with the site you came from, your browser, your screen size and your IP address, from which PostHog works out your country. It also records how each page is used (scrolling, moving and clicking) so we can see where the site is confusing, with anything you type into a form hidden, and any error the page runs into. From your first visit, PostHog keeps a random ID in a cookie and in your browser's storage for a year, so a later visit counts as the same visitor. It is never tied to your name or email.
A small card tells you about it the first time you visit. Choose No thanks there, or in Cookie settings at the bottom of every page, and nothing more is sent and the ID is deleted. Your answer is kept in your browser.
Who else handles it
- Stripe takes payments.
- Neon stores license keys and the Macs using them, in the US.
- Resend sends the email with your key.
- Vercel hosts this website and its server, in the US.
- PostHog counts this website's visits, unless you said No thanks.
We don't sell your data or share it with anyone else.
How long we keep it
We keep your email and license key for as long as the key exists, so it keeps working and we can find it if you lose it. A Mac's code goes when you remove the key from that Mac. Stripe keeps payment records as the law requires.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Deleting it turns your key off. Write to us from the email you paid with.
